"When I come to visit and I walk out, I always feel like a new person, like I can do this and I have help to do it."
I'm not really about money. I'm about what's right. And it's the same thing that Loyd and his staff have about their clients. It's just to do the right thing. I have disabilities. And I had a private insurance policy. However, after two years, because I was diagnosed with a mental illness, they were saying that they were not going to pay me anymore. Celena was referred to Loyd Bourgeois' office by a friend who knew she needed competent help with her case. Loyd is very patient. He's kind, he's a family man. And he has a lot of compassion for what he does as well as for the people that he deals with, his clients. Celena was assisted through the process of fighting for her benefits, getting her questions answered before she even got the chance to ask. I was thinking one time about mileage for whatever reason. And then here comes Christie, she sends me an email on that exact thing. It was like a tablet to keep track of mileage and different expenses that I was having to pay. Celena also sought help from Loyd after her injury in an auto accident and subsequent legal proceedings. So Loyd was right there to pick up where I needed him to be. So I always have a feeling that they have my back. I'm so confident in this team. It's about getting me to where I was before I had this accident. And that's exactly where I ended up. Celena spoke about her experience with Loyd and his staff as a treasured client. Loyd is so easy to work with. If he does not have an answer to one of my questions, within 24 hours, he does get the answer. And he does let me know so that we, both of us can then go forward with what needs to be done. The communication in this office is just awesome. Because I feel like I can talk to anybody and while they may not know my case specifically, they do know who I am. They know my name when I call. And again, that's just another spark of confidence that I have. I don't have to explain every time I call. I don't have to explain a big explanation of why I'm calling or why I'm here. They already know. Celena's experience has made Loyd's team her go-to for life's legal issues. When I come to visit and I walk out, I always feel like a new person, like I can do this and I have help to do it.Celena Rousse, Galliano, LA
"I wasn't intimidated. He makes you feel like you've known each other. The experience was great. And he still helps me. You can't go wrong with Loyd."
"He let me cry. I just was so emotional. In 2009, I woke up, I couldn't walk, I couldn't do anything. I was able to get disability. However, when short-term disability at my office, at my work ended, they fired me." Stacey turned to the Law Office of Loyd Bourgeois for help with her disability claim on the recommendation of her hairdresser, Kara. "I thought it was going to be a long process. It really wasn't. It just went smoothly, I thought. I don't know about Loyd's side, but all I knew was that it was moving smoothly." Stacey talked about her life at the start of her disability and how it has deeply affected her. "Back then I was on a scooter and everything, so Loyd made it to where I had no problems getting what I needed." Stacey said Loyd and his staff were very easy to work with during a difficult time - she was treated like family. "Always got a call back, always got a response. I have a problem, Loyd takes care of it. I wasn't intimidated. He makes you feel like we've known each other. The experience was great, and he still helps me." Stacey wholeheartedly recommends Loyd, especially for disability cases like hers. "You can't go wrong with Loyd, you can't."Stacey Diesel, Metairie, LA
"He gave me a lot of information that we didn't even know, like what's important to tell the doctors."
"I was a single mom at the time. I actually, over time, I found out that I am a narcoleptic. So what happened is that I nodded off at the wheel and hit a tree head-on at like 30 miles an hour on Ormond Boulevard in Destrehan. I broke both my legs, both my ankles, eighteen ribs, my sternum, and had a collapsed lung. I went ahead and I filed my own Social Security claim in the beginning and come to find out it's not something you can kinda do on your own. It's a lot of medical records, a lot of stuff like that." Unable to work, Amanda contacted on of the city's most well-known law firms. Her first meeting was with a consultant, not an attorney. "I mean, he was so negative. He made me feel like "Are you fighting for me or are you fighting for Social Security?" You know, it was just a very horrible experience." After being pressured into signing a contract, the consultant asked Amanda to bring medical records to the Social Security Office herself. "I was like "Well sure, I could," I said, "but then why would I need you?" And he's like, "Oh well we can do it it's really no big deal." I said, "No, no, it's okay." I got home and I was like okay. This is not who I want to use, you know. I get it that they have a job, but I'm not comfortable with this at all." Amanda knew she was disabled. She knew she had a good case. But, she needed a competent attorney. "With me being in a wheelchair and you know, it was just so much easier. Let's see if there's somebody in the area. So I did. I called Loyd Bourgeois' office. I spoke with Christy. She was very helpful. Verified, you know, as much information as I could think of at the time you know, and so she made an appointment with me. I went in. I spoke with Loyd. Him and Christy were very pleasant. They make you feel more homey. He gave me a lot of information that we didn't even really know in reference to what's important to the doctors. What's important to him to know. What's important to be in medical records. So he really, he led me along to know exactly what I needed to make sure was being said, asked, and done in my appointments. Not only just to make sure I went, but it is something very important that you need to have in your medical records." At Loyd's office, Louisiana Disability Law, communication is paramount. "He was very helpful and any questions I had, sometimes I felt like they were silly, but he's like "No, that's fine. If you don't know, you don't know. He prepped me very well in the hearing as far as what needed to be said and so forth. I mean, I think myself, I was shocked as far as how quick it was all laid out. How my hearing went. But, I think it was all with how Loyd prepped me in the hearing, the pre-hearing, of how the hearing would go. I mean, he's very educated. He'll educate you. I think he's very considerate as far as what's going on. What you know and don't know and so forth. I think he's very personal, where most people are so impersonal these days. I can't say I have one negative thing to really even say."Amanda Thomas, Destrehan, LA
"I was worried about getting an attorney that would work for me, instead of just getting a paycheck, and he made me feel he cared more about the situation than just a paycheck. He cared about me, and I felt that and that's what made me very comfortable with him."
"I was worried about getting an attorney that would work for me, instead of just getting a paycheck, and he made me feel he cared more about the situation than just a paycheck. He cared about me, and I felt that and that's what made me very comfortable with him." "I was on my way to work, pulling off the interstate, and I went to turn and somebody was in front of me that flagged me on. When they flagged me on, I came across the highway and I actually could see him in the corner of my eye coming my way, so what I did was I gave it more gas to try to get away from him. Well, I didn't. He caught me in the back end, swung the car around, threw me in the ditch." Gabriel's C2, a vertebrate bone at the top of the neck was broken. He would be in surgery within 48 hours. But after the first surgery... "Find out that my C2 wasn't healing, so they came back and done another surgery. I lost some movement in my neck and the rotation like 15 degrees to each side." Gabriel attempted physical therapy, but it soon became clear to his doctors that his severe injury would prevent a return to work. To do my Social Security disability, so I asked around and a friend of mine had recommended Loyd Bourgeois Jr. I made an appointment with him; went over everything. He explained everything thoroughly." Loyd filed an appeal and fought for Gabriel's Social Security Disability benefits after Gabriel was initially denied. "For the court, so I went in front of the magistrate. I explained everything that was going on with me. The magistrate asked me questions, my attorney asked me questions, and then that case was over with. They didn't give me a decision right away." Loyd informed Gabriel about two weeks later that the court had found in his favor. "I got all my back pay for even the time that when I got denied, as well as all my benefits. And here I am disabled, but it helped me to make life a little easier." Gabriel was a client looking for sincere and responsive service. He says he found that at Louisiana Disability Law. "When I called him, if he wasn't available, I left a message. In a 24‑hour period, I received a phone call from him, calling me, finding out what the problem was, and what we could do to fix it and make it right, and my concerns. He answered all my concerns. I recommend him to my friends when I realize that they have a problem that they can no longer work."Gabriel Guerrero, Paradis, LA
"And I was really worried because I had been fighting for years. Every question I've asked he has explained it. If I didn't understand it, he would break it down where it really made sense."
"When he's with you, you feel like you're the only one that he's got the case on. But I know that I'm not. But, at the time, the feeling you get is okay, it's just me and you and this is where we go from here." "I became disabled in 2010 maybe 2011. Being the worker I am, I never considered disability." Sharon filed for Social Security Disability benefits and lost. She filed again with another local attorney. "Didn't even met him until the day of the hearing, and I was very discouraged. But a friend of mine recommended Loyd Bourgeois, and I gave him a call. I pointed out some things in the denial letter that he looked into and luckily he saw what I saw. He started on my case. The feeling of comfort, like a big exhale, like I didn't have to really worry. And the more I spoke to him, the more I dealt with him, the more comfortable I felt." Since Sharon was essentially starting the process anew, she was concerned. "And I was really worried because I had been fighting for years. Every question I've asked he has explained it. If I didn't understand it, he would break it down where it really made sense." After Sharon's initial approval, Loyd even pursued another case for Sharon. One the previous attorney abandoned. "That was one I thought that I would never be able to win, and low and behold he did what had to be done. He pointed out all the things that needed to be pointed out, and he made a very good case and we won. He really did put a lot of faith back in where I had lost a lot of confidence."Sharon Bazajou, Kenner, LA
"Mr. Bourgeois and Christy have been a godsend to my family."
"My SSDI case was denied and I was at a loss, I didn’t know where to turn. I searched for disability attorneys in the area and Mr. Bourgeois came up. All his reviews were positive, so I gave him a call. One phone call and he immediately took on my case. Mr. Bourgeois and Christy have been a godsend to my family. Not only did he take on my case, but he won. It’s not an easy process, and it doesn’t happen overnight, but it does happen eventually. Nothing happens quickly with SSA, just make sure you have all your documents in order and you cannot have too many medical records. Communication was easy; phone calls and emails were always answered timely. I appreciate the effort this firm has put into my case, our lives have definitely changed for the better. Thank you."SSDI Client
