One of the busiest times of the year for my family and I is about to start. With three active kids involved in various activities, March is shaping up to be non-stop for the Bourgeois household.
I am currently coaching Reid’s soccer team and really enjoying teaching these young boys the fundamentals of sportsmanship, teamwork, competitiveness and fun while playing soccer. I am thankful to be coaching a few kids who I have worked with in the past, and I really enjoy watching them grow in confidence on the soccer field.
I am also helping coach Preston’s baseball team. Our family decided to try travel baseball for the first time this year, and we are looking forward to some exciting days on the diamond starting this weekend. Preston really works hard as a catcher and has a lot of potential for the position. I am anxious for the step up in competition and know our team will rise to face the challenge. Our team name is great – Louisiana Skeeters.
And Sophie’s dance competition season kicks off this weekend as well. While no one will mistake me for a dancing coach or helper, I do enjoy watching Sophie and her teammates jazz it up on stage. She dances for Kelli’s Kreative Dance, and her competition teams have performed really well over the past few years. This year she is moving up in class and trying a new dance for her -lyrical. It will be a challenging year, but I know she will do great!
Everyone tells me to treasure these days of running ragged because they go as fast as they started. Lindy and I love and treasure every moment we get to spend watching our children grow in varied and interesting directions while enjoying activities they love.
